Bracket Dynamics Demonstration - 1 Static Analysis

OVERVIEW AND SETUP

The main goal of this set of demonstrations is to show why it is important to use more advanced types of analysis to fully represent the working environment of a particular design. In this case an analysis of a bracket model will be extended to include dynamics analysis.

 

The order of the demonstrations is shown below:
Model setup and statics analysis
Normal modes analysis
Frequency response analysis
Direct Transient response analysis

Each demonstration always picks up from the previous one.

The bracket model is made from sheet metal with an additional motor component represented by a single mass element connected to the bracket by rigid elements.




In this first of the series of analyses the model will be subjected to a 1g gravity load and its static response investigated.

There is a requirement for the motor CG node deflection not to exceed 1 mm.
