In this session, Top MIDAS Expert Amir Botros, Senior Structural Engineer at Jacobs focuses on Analysis and Design of Post-tensioned Straddle Concrete Bents using Midas Civil

Post-tensioned Straddle bents provide a structural and cost-efficient alternative to traditional reinforced concrete bents when it comes to long-span bents, generally 65 feet to 110 feet or longer, combined with limitations on the depth of the bent. This presentation highlights different modeling techniques that can be used to analyze and design post-tensioned Concrete Bents using Midas Civil. The session focuses on procedures for performing construction staged analysis for post-tensioned bents designed to straddle underlying railroad tracks. Determining the bent section dimensions, appropriate layout and profile of the tendons, and the bent/column connection type are considered key factors for an efficient design.

Key Takeaways:

⭐Different modeling techniques that can be used to analyze and design post-tensioned.
⭐Performing construction staged analysis for post-tensioned bents designed to straddle underlying railroad tracks.
⭐Determine bent section dimensions, appropriate layout, and profile of tendons.
