About Gregory Louisy

He has 6+ years of structural engineering experience in bridge replacement, bridge rehabilitation, culvert replacement, ferry dock improvements, buried structures, bridge structural evaluations, and retaining walls. His master's in engineering focused on the following courses: prestressed concrete, advanced structural steel design, rehabilitation of concrete structures, non-linear analysis, earthquake engineering, building design, bridge design, finite element methods, masonry design, and timber design. Gregory has been using midas Civil for structural modeling of bridges and culverts since 2018. Some of the projects I have worked on and structures I have modeled using MIDAS Civil include:

  • Three-span variable depth reinforced concrete T-beam bridge (as part of a structural evaluation) Reinforced concrete box culvert (detailed design, replacement structure)
  • Single span prestressed concrete girder bridge (detailed design, replacement structure on liquefiable soils) – included seismic analysis: eigenvector analysis, response spectrum analysis, kinematic loads.
  • Structural Steel Bridge (Detailed Design, New Ramp for a Ferry Dock)
  • Advanced Evaluation of Bridge Substructure (Abutment on Pile Foundations) – Involved soil-structure interaction using p-y curves
  • Caisson foundations for steel ramp and ferry dock (Detailed Design)
  • Single Span Prestressed box girder bridge (Structural Evaluation)
  • The reinforced concrete rigid frame (structural evaluation)
