Midas FEA NX: Modeling Structural Contact Using Various Approaches

In this Intro Session our MIDAS engineer explained about Midas FEA NX's capability in simulating structural connections such as contact, weld, friction surfaces, etc. It discusses several approaches to model contact and shows the comparison of how each approach would approximate the structural behavior to a certain degree. The session covers the following points:

  • Overview and applications of point spring, rigid links, and compression/tension-only links
  • Running nonlinear static analysis to simulate structural contacts
